This preface introduces this ebook and describes its target audience. It also introduces the conventions and notations used in this ebook.

Introduction

This is the first chapter in an evolving online ebook about designing flat file websites using Grav.

This preliminary version of the ebook is not login protected, but the index page URL has only been given to a limited audience, consisting of selected customers of Hannemyr Nye Medier AS and a few others that has expressed interest in the project.

Who this ebook is for

This ebook is general is written for people that already knows the Drupal WCMS well, but interested is also learning how to design websites using Grav.

Readers are assumed to have some general knowledge about Markdown, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and Drupal, and also know how to use standard command line interface tools such as tar and bash under Unix or Gnu/Linux. (The command line interface is often abbreviated “CLI”.)
