Introduction

Calculating salary

Excel stores time (i.e. hours and minutes) as fractions of a day, so if you have a cell containing a time, you need to multiply by 24. For example:

Calculating a salary based on registered hours

	A	B	C	D	H
1	Start	Stop	Hours	Rate	Salary
2	09:00	15:30	06:30	1,000.00	6,500.00
F:			=B2-A2		=C2*D2*24

Make sure all the cells containing time is formatted as “Time”.
